The Maze: Poshmark, an online marketplace for secondhand fashion, cut standard shipping from $6.49 to 99 cents on eligible U.S. marketplace orders on November 3. The holiday promotion has no minimum purchase. Shoppers buying during Posh LIVE, the platform’s live video sales, have a separate offer. An eligible order of $75 or more ships free. Both offers apply to U.S. deliveries, and Poshmark has given neither a fixed end date.

The Details:

  • The marketplace discount applies at checkout. A shopper needs to be signed into an account in good standing on the app or website and use an eligible U.S. delivery address. The 99-cent charge applies per order, so several items bought together from one seller count as one order for the promotion. Checkout shows the rate automatically, without a code. The time the buyer submits payment determines eligibility. If a shopper submitted an offer with payment before the promotion started, the seller accepting it later does not make that order eligible.

  • Live shoppers qualify within one show. Purchases made during a Posh LIVE show follow the live offer, whether the buyer wins an auction or pays the listed price. Poshmark automatically groups items bought from the same seller during the same show. For example, two purchases of $40 and $35 would meet the minimum if those are their prices after discounts and both go into that one order. Tax and shipping do not count toward the $75. Poshmark used the same minimum at its October Poshfest event, when the offer was limited to selected hosts. The November offer covers any show that meets the promotion terms.

  • Sellers still pack and ship the orders. The promotion changes what qualifying buyers pay for standard delivery, while seller fees and charges for overweight parcels follow the existing rules. Poshmark can change or end either offer, and the terms give buyers no guarantee that an order will arrive by a holiday. A live show generally has to start and finish during the promotion. If Poshmark ends the offer during a show, qualifying orders already placed still get free shipping.

MarketMaze Take:

The two offers make different purchases easier to justify. A $10 item that would normally cost $16.49 delivered before tax now costs $10.99 if it qualifies. That $5.50 saving goes a long way on one inexpensive item, even if its seller keeps the price steady. A shopper in a live show has a different reason to add an item. The next purchase can put their order over $75, but only if it comes from the same seller in that show.

For Poshmark, the commercial question is how many orders the cheaper checkout adds. An order a shopper would have placed at the old shipping price still receives the lower rate. Poshmark hasn’t disclosed how many extra orders it expects or what the offers cost the company, so the $5.50 buyer saving alone tells us little about the economics.
