1️⃣ News

The Maze: Amazon is testing a U.S. seller plugin for Claude and Quick, letting merchants manage their accounts from outside Seller Central while keeping approval controls.

Source: Amazon via GeekWire. Claude displays a seller account checkup using Amazon’s selling partner plugin.
Sellers can connect Claude to listings, stock and sales data without coding, bringing Amazon operations into an assistant they already use.
The plugin requires human approval before actions, while new Seller Assistant workflows monitor conditions and keep an audit trail.
The plugin starts in U.S. stores, so the separate worldwide offer of a free year of Quick Plus does not mean sellers everywhere can use it.
Why it matters: Sellers may spend less time moving data between tools, but Amazon still controls the connections; teams must check whether easier actions improve decisions.

2️⃣ News

The Maze: Citi has launched an ad platform for U.S. credit-card customers, using purchase data to target offers and measure sales while its planned Kard acquisition awaits closing.
Brands can reach customers across Citi.com, its mobile app and paid media, using insights from 6.5 billion annual transactions.
Citi reports up to 5x incremental return on ad spend for one online retailer, without publishing the test method or promising typical results.
The Kard deal remains pending, so its merchant-funded rewards capabilities are a planned addition, not a completed integration.
Why it matters: Banks can compete for advertising budgets using purchase data, but retailers still need proof that the ads create extra profitable sales, not just count existing demand.
3️⃣ News

The Maze: YouTube is turning product reviews into a shopping conversation with Ask YouTube, adding comparisons and follow-up questions; rollout markets remain unspecified.

Source: YouTube. The official demo shows a camera review beside an Ask YouTube answer and a tagged product card.
Product-review searches may show comparisons based on viewer preferences, and shoppers can keep asking questions on the video page.
Answers can show tagged products that earn purchase commissions, but not every tagged item is included.
Creators provide the product explanation while YouTube shapes the shortlist, making clear demonstrations and accurate model details worth testing.
Why it matters: Brands should test how their products appear in answers, then measure visits and sales: being covered in a video does not guarantee a place on the shortlist.
4️⃣ Insight

The Maze: TikTok Shop's top sellers reach Amazon far more often than Amazon's top sellers reach TikTok Shop, showing a shared long tail but sharply different routes to elite scale.
At the top 100, 20% of TikTok Shop sellers rank in Amazon's top 10,000, versus 4% in reverse.
Amazon turns discovered demand into a familiar purchase; TikTok requires a product and creator engine that can win a feed.
The gap nearly disappears across the top 10,000, showing a shared merchant long tail but different routes to elite scale.
Why it matters: A TikTok Shop launch can create demand that settles elsewhere, so branded Amazon search and sales belong beside in-app orders in the performance review.
5️⃣ Insight

The Maze: Gen AI is moving out of B2B pilot mode: fully implemented plus currently implementing rose from 42% in 2024 to 52% in 2025 across the surveyed cohort.
Fully implemented use moved from 19% to 22%, while active implementation climbed from 23% to 30%.
The no-timeline group fell from 16% to 9%, but 43% of respondents still remain outside implementation across near-term plans, longer waits and no plans.
Adoption stage is not value: commercial workflows still need reliable product, price, account and handoff data before gen AI improves customer experience or revenue.
Why it matters: Stop counting pilots. Track the customer or revenue decision that has become repeatable, governed and measurably better in production.
6️⃣ Insight

The Maze: Basic personalization is everywhere. Genuine one-to-one relevance is not—and market leaders use it more across every selected B2B touchpoint.
Social media shows the largest visible split: 18% of leaders use one-to-one tactics, versus 6% of laggards.
Events and chatbots each run 17% versus 5%, while website and e-commerce are 16% versus 6%; shared data and next-best actions are the mechanism.
This is not proof that a tailored message causes market-share growth, but it shows that leaders operationalize account context more consistently across the commercial journey.
Why it matters: Treat personalization as a revenue-system capability, not a campaign setting. The useful question is whether an account’s context can change the next decision.
