MAZE STORY

The Maze: Retailer Quince secured $500 million in Series E funding, doubling its market valuation to $10.1 billion in less than a year as investors double down on its manufacturer-to-consumer model.

  • The company surpassed $1 billion in revenue while aggressively expanding its direct-to-consumer footprint into the Canadian market to reach a broader North American audience.

  • The startup utilizes proprietary demand forecasting through its internal tech stack to manage small-batch production and minimize waste across its massive global supply chain.

  • Despite legal challenges from legacy brands like Coach, the platform maintains strong momentum by offering premium goods at price points that disrupt the luxury market.

Why it matters: Quince proves that vertical integration allows competing with established giants by offering superior quality at radical prices. Eliminating the middleman ensures high margins while keeping luxury accessible to mass-market shoppers.

Meet the CEO Behind the ‘Starbucks of Flowers’

Kim Tobman knows how to build giants. Having previously led businesses like Savage X Fenty and President of SKIMS, she turns digital shops into household names.

As CEO of The Bouqs Co., she’s transforming the $100B flower industry.

The company is already one of the biggest floral ecommerce brands. Their model can get flowers farm-to-door 3x more efficiently, slashing waste to below 2% and fueling 270 million stems sold.

In just the past few years, Kim has launched 5 retail stores with The Bouqs Co., all profitable in under a year. Now, they’re ready to open 70+ more. These shops can double as fast delivery centers for high-margin weddings and parties.

Bouqs’ brick-and-mortar stores are already thriving. In towns with stores, the brand has seen 100% year-over-year growth.

With $90M+ in recent revenue, this company has become a nationwide flower powerhouse. Become an early shareholder in The Bouqs Co.

MAZE STORY

The Maze: Walmart-backed e-commerce titan Flipkart is readying an initial public offering in Mumbai as it repatriates its domicile from Singapore to India. This strategic transition allows the retail giant to list in the world's fastest-growing digital economy.

  • The company recently secured government approval to finalize its legal relocation, a critical regulatory step that enables listing the $35 billion marketplace giant locally.

  • Management is strengthening its financial governance by appointing Jason Chappel as group controller to oversee critical operations as the platform scales rapidly across categories.

  • This public debut follows the retailer’s push to expand its lending footprint through BNPL products while serving a market where 35% of in-store shoppers use phones to price shop.

Why it matters: A successful listing validates India's maturing e-commerce ecosystem and provides a massive liquidity event for its parent firm. It signals that the region's largest players are ready for public market scrutiny.

MAZE STORY

The Maze: Amazon now enables brands to sync catalogs via third-party feeds to its Shop Direct and Buy for Me features, extending its agentic commerce reach beyond its own marketplace walls.

  • Feedonomics now enables merchants to sync pricing and inventory in real-time, ensuring customers receive accurate data across Amazon’s agentic shopping tools.

  • The program includes 100 million products, which allows brands to capture search traffic without needing to manage a dedicated Amazon storefront manually.

  • Richer catalog data makes Rufus, Amazon’s AI assistant, respond more accurately to high-intent queries, keeping shoppers within the company’s ecosystem.

Why it matters: Amazon is evolving from a walled garden into a central discovery hub for the entire web. This shift allows the retail giant to own the customer relationship even when transactions occur elsewhere.

DATA TREASURE

The Maze: TikTok is no longer just media. TikTok Shop GMV jumped from 0.9B in 2021 to 64.3B in 2025, a 71x surge in four years. Entertainment merged with checkout, and the funnel collapsed.

  • GMV rose from 0.9B in 2021 to 4.4B in 2022, 16.3B in 2023, 33.2B in 2024, and 64.3B in 2025, making it one of the fastest scaling commerce platforms in history.

  • The US leads with 15.1B in 2025, followed by Indonesia at 13.1B and Thailand at 11.5B, showing Southeast Asia as early engine and America as breakout market.

  • Vietnam at 8B, Malaysia at 6.4B, and the Philippines at 6.2B illustrate how emerging markets adopted live and creator commerce at scale before Western markets caught up.

Why it matters: Social commerce is now structural. If TikTok owns attention and checkout, brands must master creator led selling or risk losing relevance in the fastest growing channel.

DATA TREASURE

The Maze: AI adoption looks very different when measured per person. Small digital hubs like Singapore, the UAE, Hong Kong, and South Korea lead global usage intensity, while the United States ranks only 20th. The country building most AI tools is not the country using them the most.

• Singapore tops the global AI usage ranking with the highest per capita score as millions of residents use tools like ChatGPT, Midjourney, and Copilot daily across work, education, and services despite a population of only about 6M.

• The UAE ranks near the top with roughly 10M residents but extremely high digital penetration and government AI programs launched since 2017 that pushed AI use across banking, retail, logistics, and public services.

• The US created most leading AI apps but sits around rank 20 because its 330M population dilutes per capita activity and adoption is uneven across sectors like manufacturing, retail, and services.

Why it matters: Adoption speed is becoming as important as innovation. For ecommerce this means markets like Singapore, South Korea, and the UAE may experiment with AI search, AI shopping agents, and AI marketing faster than larger Western markets.
