🌀 Maze Story

Amazon Accelerate 2025 🚀

Amazon just gave sellers a preview of what happens when generative AI runs the show. From listing to logistics, nearly every manual task is getting automated, letting brands move faster—and maybe even sleep better.

What happened?

  • Amazon launched an AI-powered Seller Assistant that not only finds growth opportunities but can proactively alert you to low stock, suggest new programs like Subscribe & Save, and perform tasks inside Seller Central.

  • Listing creation is now AI-driven—sellers can create a new product listing just by pasting a URL from their own website, and the AI can also refresh older listings based on real-time shopping trends.

  • Creative Studio & Agent offers a built-in, AI creative director for campaigns, generating ads, videos, and images—at no extra cost.

  • Amazon phased out commingling in FBA: products now ship only from a seller’s own inventory, saving brand owners up to $600M a year and reducing sticker headaches.

  • Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) expanded—Amazon now officially fulfills Walmart orders, with Shopify and Shein integration coming soon, letting brands pool inventory across platforms.

Why it matters?

  • Sellers can automate everything from listing optimization to account health and compliance, cutting manual work and reducing errors.

  • One pool of inventory now powers Amazon, Walmart, Shopify, and Shein sales—unlocking new scale and speed.

  • Lower fulfillment costs and better data tools (like Custom Analytics and Profit Analytics) mean smarter, more profitable growth for brands competing in a tougher market.

eBay Buys Nordic Resale Star Tise 💰

Everyone thinks eBay is yesterday’s news, but it just made a smart play for the next generation of sellers. The company will acquire Tise, a “social marketplace” that’s wildly popular with Gen Z in the Nordics. The move gives eBay a shot at social-driven, secondhand fashion and a new way to compete with Vinted and Depop.

What happened?

  • Tise has about 2.5 million registered users across the Nordics, with 1 million in Norway.

  • The company generated NOK 191 million (~$18 million) revenue in 2024, but reported a pre-tax loss of NOK 41 million.

  • The rumored deal value is around NOK 1.3 billion ($120–130 million), based on disclosed investor exits.

  • Deal is expected to close by Q4 2025, pending regulatory approvals.

  • Tise’s app mixes marketplace listings with social features—users can follow, comment, and pay directly in-app.

Why it matters?

  • Gives eBay instant access to Gen Z shoppers and a proven social resale playbook in the Nordics, where Vinted is strongest.

  • Tise adds a social, mobile-native front end to eBay’s $75B marketplace—and fits recent buys like TCGplayer, Certilogo, and 3PM Shield, all aimed at building trust and authentication in key verticals.

  • Shows eBay is willing to invest in local, C2C platforms to keep pace with fashion resale giants, while expanding beyond its traditional, slower-moving marketplace model.
